To this day one of my absolute favorite shows to watch is The Andy Griffith Show. It feels like home to me. It's wholesome, funny, smart, and timeless. And while many shows have tried to duplicate its success, few have come close.
Therefore, even with the sad news today of Andy Griffith's passing, I take comfort in knowing his memory will live on forever in The Andy Griffith Show as well as all of his other fine accomplishments.
Ron Howard, who played Griffith's son 'Opie' on the show, and who is now an accomplished director, payed tribute to Griffith today in an LA Times article. Click here to read the lovely tribute.
Their relationship on the The Andy Griffith Show is undoubtedly one of the reasons the show resonated so well with audiences. By watching their interactions, we learned how to be a good parent, how to be a good child, and as seen in the clip below... how to work for an allowance.
